Stuff

From my forthcoming book, "Codex barricadium" some obstacles of the 41st Millenium, where war is like total & that.

About 3 years sgo I guess, Tomster & I travelled to the COGs show in Chesterfieldium & we picked up some 2nd hand 40k gear for his IG. I also picked up a sprue of barrels & that for 50p.
Then did nothing with them. I was having a tidy & found them again. Using some pre cut MDF as bases I decided to make a few obstacles. Then can be placed together to form one barrier across a roadium or left as stand alone "clutter". Aside for the 50p they cost nowt. H caught me mid build & gave me a suspicious look over the piece of plastic chain as I'd rescued it out of the bin some years ago. It was off some outfit she'd bought & was of no use to her, but makes a great looking heavy chain in this scale. Rest of the stuff is just cut up sprue, a wine cork, paint brush guards, a broken resin door, a bit of stone & a part off an old truck one of the boys had. There's also a bit of pot pouri which looked suitably "alien".I have a box full of "useful crap". I must try & use it.

Colours used are black, umber, VJ earth & a sand final highlight. All metal was painted gun metal, then rusted with a red brown paint splosh & a wash of chestnut ink.

Space marines ahoy!

Is it just me or is the 41st Millenium not that racially diverse? I wonder what happened?

He looked 'ard so i made him a vet, as denoted by the white rim on the pads. I never knew that.

Ahmed was famed for his barbequed Tau kebabs.

Blurry, oh bum.
So there you go, one squad of tictactical marines. Some have come out darker than others because they got a black ink wash at one point. I know some are darker than the Codex but I don't really care lol. Extra pads were used from the Space marine commander box set & I added extra packs to give them a "campaign look". I quite like them & to loves them. Painting wise I probably spent too much time on them & as they are plastic I can't say I enjoyed doing them as much as the metal vets. pack. You can tell as the extreme highlight on some is not as neat as on others. I'd started to tire of doing them 8-)
For the emperor n that
init tho

Biker mice from Ultra

Blurry pic, ooops sorry!

Looked forward to doing these, but oddly didn't enjoy painting them at all. Steve Jones is right 40k stuff should be a fast paint job, these weren't! From what I have seen, they tend to operate in 4s or 5s so I'll probably have to get at least one more, sigh......I prefer the side car ones, can you still get them?
Not sure about the ariel I added now, they should have a lot more clutter on the bikes imho, where is a chap to put his provisions?
Also need to find & print off a banner for the head honcho at some point.

Tictactical marinez. A WIP

Boom.......my shell, my belle. It's a song, honest
He looks 'ard dunnie?
El capitano
Flamer is not glued in place yet as I need access to his chest

Finally, a bayonet wielding, close combat loving loon.

Lots of extras added for that "in the field look". They've been cleaned up. but still need a bit more tidying before pigment application. This just depends when Tom feels he can non Nintendo long enough to do the undercoating & base blue.
More stuff as it happens, honest.

Space Marine Veterans (TMs totally respected like dudes)
